Jones is hard at work at the factory
when she gets the call every worker wishes for this time of year
from The Boss. She’s chosen as one of the lucky twelve, bestowed
with the honor of being a Bearer of Christmas Wishes. There are
rules, of course, but it’s fairly simple. Pass out candy canes to
people in your assigned area to spread some Christmas magic, then
you can go back home.
If only it were that simple.
Jones lands in a big city in
freezing weather, and a snowstorm is blowing in. She’s alone in a
new world, but thanks to the kindness of a stranger, she’s able to
find food and shelter.
Barrett
doesn’t have much himself, being a homeless vet who’s fallen on hard
times, but he’s willing to help however he can. Jones seems to be
lost, more than a little naïve, and maybe a bit crazy, but he’s the
last one to judge. He feels protective of her, and he could use some
of that Christmas magic himself.
Feelings are new to Jones,
especially one in particular. And when she thinks she may lose
Barrett for good, she must do what it takes to save him as he saved
her.
Turns out, love may be the greatest
magic of all.
Warning! Contains a broken candy cane, real
cold and hunger, five rules, an aversion to peppermint, legal
tender, a
striped bowl, and one man finding Christmas magic with a
woman who only has one name. |
